From: "TFM Office" To: Subject: RE: Service of Rule 5 on Hwy patrol Date: Thursday, March 17, 2005 1:53 PM Delton, one of my all time favorite civil cases is Patel v. Southern Brokers, Ltd., 277 S.C. 490, 289 S.E.2d 642 (1982). I am not sure that it continues to be good law after adoption of the SCRCP effective 1985; however, judges seem to like both the case and the underlying reasoning of the case. I always thought Tom Pope is the best lawyer in South Carolina but Dan Speights gets Tom's vote. If you have any success with this case, let me know just because I am curious. Thanks. Thomas F. Served rule 5 by certified mail on trooper at Horry cty. troopers' office. Mail came back because "unclaimed". Dont want to start off burning too many bridges here in Horry by complaining to his seargent but think this is chickenshit. Any suggestions? Delton Delton W.
