In 2006 Luke Shealey began working as an Assistant Public Defender in Columbia, SC, where he would diligently represent indigent clients on criminal cases for over seven years. Luke grew up as a lawyer in the deep south, fighting systemic injustice and inequality, while taking countless cases to trial with exceptional results
Luke was a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, GA in 2008, and currently serves as faculty and chairs the planning committee for the SCACDL Trial College. He routinely presents on the topic of Stand Your Ground and Castle Immunity across South Carolina. Luke is a partner at The Shealey Law Firm, and the firm makes it a priority to represent indigent and juvenile clients charged with the most serious offenses.
Luke has trained in the Colorado Method of Capital Voir Dire at the Colorado School of Law and also in death penalty defense at the Santa Clara University School of Law. Luke has also served as a visiting faculty member at the National Criminal Defense College, and also routinely works with Suzerain Capital Defense consultation teams to train in Capital Voir Dire. Luke strives to provide powerful representation, and his vast courtroom experience allows him to achieve maximum results for his clients.
Luke is admitted to practice in all South Carolina State and Federal Courts, as well as the US Supreme Court.
