Richard Scott Joye Memorial Trial College

Named in honor of longtime SCACDL leader Richard Scott Joye, this immersive, application-only program is designed to sharpen trial skills through hands-on, high-impact training. Held every other year, the Trial College brings together over 30 top faculty to train just 12 participants—offering a rare 2:1 (or better) student-to-instructor ratio.

Launched in 2024, the program was immediately recognized by the USC Joseph F. Rice School of Law and featured in South Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

The next Trial College will be held in 2026. Stay tuned for application details and key dates.
