A Charlottesville, Virginia Native, Jonathan moved to SC in 2015 to attend law school at the University of South Carolina. Jonathan attended and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2018 where he was only a handful of students to have been an active member of both the Moot Court and Mock Trial bars simultaneously. Jonathan would travel and compete for the Mock Trial Bar, and appeared in competition before the Justices of the South Carolina Supreme Court for the Moot Court Bar. In law school Jonathan clerked for the the Federal Defender for the Western District of Virginia, the South Carolina Attorney General's Office in Criminal Appeals, and for the Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office in Columbia.
Jonathan has worked on both sides of the criminal bar, as both as a former Special Assistant Solicitor in the Fifth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina, the former DUI Prosecutor for Lexington County, and now as a Defense Attorney. A former Firefighter / Medic prior to pursuing the law, Jonathan put his knowledge of emergency medicine and drugs to work as a prosecutor for Drug Crimes and Violent Crimes. He now puts his experience as a former Assistant Solicitor and Prosecutor to work for defendants charged with the same crimes he used to treat, and used to prosecute.
In his spare time he enjoys SCUBA Diving as a Technical SCUBA Diver and Dive Instructor, being with his family, traveling, and exploring & enjoying mountains of Tennessee and Virginia. He also enjoys back country camping and hiking through the mountains anywhere, and feels that any day on or under the water with friends and family is a great day. He has for years been desperately trying to plan a two week back country expedition to the Tetons or Yellowstone National Park, and every year prays this will be that year.
Jonathan is admitted to practice in all South Carolina State Courts and Tribunals and in the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina.
